About Craig Ratz – Owner of Fire Dynamics LLC

My name is Craig Ratz, and I’m proud to be the founder and owner of Fire Dynamics LLC. My journey in firefighting began in August 1989 when I joined the Fire Department as a paid-on-call firefighter. In 1992, I earned a degree in Fire Protection and, in February 1993, became Portage’s first full-time Fire Inspector. Over the course of more than 31 years serving my community, I obtained over 100 certifications and dedicated myself to protecting people and businesses. I responded to thousands of 911 calls, trained local firefighters as an instructor with Madison College, conducted over 40,000 fire inspections, and delivered fire safety presentations to more than 80,000 people. It has been an incredible honor and privilege to serve.

In 2013, I founded Fire Dynamics LLC. The inspiration for starting this company came directly from my experience conducting fire inspections and the feedback I received from business owners, maintenance staff, and safety personnel. I recognized a need for a reliable, high-quality fire safety company—one that truly protects properties from every angle while remaining affordable. Fire Dynamics is my way of continuing the mission I’ve dedicated my life to: protecting and serving.

On a personal note, I have an 21-year-old daughter named Cameran, who brings me great joy. We love boating, skiing, and hitting the slopes during winter. Watching her play basketball and volleyball is one of my favorite pastimes. In the fall, I’m equally passionate about hunting monster deer. These activities are as important to me as my commitment to fire safety.
